Overview Subscription licenses give you access to Tableau over a set period of time and are available for all products and deployment options, from on-premises to fully hosted in the cloud. Maintenance is included in the price of a subscription license, keeping you up-to-date and giving you access to Tableau’s ongoing product releases and support services at no additional cost. For perpetual licenses, maintenance is what gives you continued access to technical support and product upgrades. If you let your maintenance expire, you can continue to use Tableau, but will lose access to technical support and product upgrades. For more information about renewals, please reference the following resources:

Refreshing Subscription or Maintenance on your Product key At renewal, product keys are available in the customer portal on the order start date, even if the subscription order payment is completed and processed earlier. Upon receiving the keys, please refresh your product key(s) to re-sync to the new period end date and discontinue expiration notifications.* For complete instructions on how to manage your product keys, please reference the following resources:

*Refresh not required for Tableau Online products; subscription end date will refresh automatically. Upgrading to the Latest Version of Tableau You can download the latest version of Tableau via our Product Downloads and Release Notes page, or through the Tableau Customer Portal using your current product key. Please note, your account must be active and in good standing to be eligible to upgrade. If your organization has centralized administration, please work with your internal license administrator for access. If you have difficulty receiving the latest version of the software, check out our upgrade support pages for Desktop and Server. If you’re still having trouble, please email your Customer Success Manager. For more information regarding upgrading to a newer version of Tableau, please consult Tableau Help.
