If you keep up with the Seattle real estate buzz, then you may have seen the news…Tableau headquarters has moved! Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood has been home to Tableau for more than 12 years, so when it came time to explore a new headquarters location, we wanted to stay true to the community that has supported us and helped us grow since the beginning.

Developed by Touchstone, with core and shell architecture by Perkins + Will, our new building, NorthEdge, was designed to inspire employee connections and collaboration. In celebration of our Fremont roots, the beautiful new space has immediate access to the Burke-Gilman Trail, a favorite for commuters, and is just north of the iconic Seattle landmark, Gas Works Park.

Our NorthEdge space was also created with Tableau’s devoted community and customers in mind. We’ve enabled training centers and over 70 conferences rooms so there are more face-to-face opportunities to engage our customers and host product trainings and community events.

Despite the persistent stereotype about our drizzly weather, Seattleites tend to love the great outdoors and our employees are no exception. To honor this appreciation for the elements, NorthEdge has multiple courtyards and roof-top decks that showcase sweeping views of Lake Union and downtown Seattle. On a clear day, you can easily spot the Space Needle peeking out from behind the Queen Anne neighborhood.

The lobby is also home to a hanging, inverted Mount Rainier topography map – pictures won’t do this work of art justice!

The building’s second floor “Hub” was designed to further Tableau’s commitment to collaboration. Home to four full kitchens and comfortable, family-style seating, the space is buzzing with employees on the hunt for a snack or their next cup of cold brew (it’s on tap!).

With teams from marketing and development to recruiting and HR, NorthEdge provides the backdrop for colleagues to make new connections and be inspired by their surroundings. As an organization, we’re driven by our employees’ creativity and enthusiasm for our products. True to Tableau, that passion exists no matter the location but, we are thrilled to call NorthEdge, and our other locations throughout Fremont home.

We know an office is not simply a place for your desk. For us, it’s important to create an environment where people feel welcomed, motivated and are able to thrive. Here’s what some of our employees in the NorthEdge building are saying:

“NorthEdge’s indoor/outdoor features give our space an open, creative vibe that’s really true to Tableau’s fun and funky culture! As a recruiter, I’m looking forward to meeting people who are drawn to this collaborative environment.” - Vanessa Ihnot, Recruiting
"It's nice to have lots of different types of spaces to work in, especially when they have a view. Keeps things fresh." - Piper Stull-Lane, Product Marketing
“I love how NorthEdge has informal and formal spaces for teams to collaborate! The team rooms and conference spaces are perfect for meetings, but my favorite spots are the seating areas with a view of Gas Works Park.” – Midori Ng, Academic Programs
“It’s been much easier to collaborate and have impromptu conversations by having different orgs under one roof. My favorite spot? The library!” - Faye Satta, Development
