Today, we are pleased to release the Tableau Mobile app for Workspace ONE. With the release of this app (iOS only), on the platform powered by AirWatch technology, we are empowering IT administrators to secure enterprise data at all times, while users visualize, analyze, and leverage data at scale from their mobile devices.

VMware Workspace ONE is an intelligence-driven digital workspace platform that simply and securely delivers and manages any app—like Tableau Mobile—on any device by integrating access control, application management, and multi-platform endpoint management. We are excited to partner with VMware on this new customer offering.

Previously, Tableau Mobile has been available on VMware using the AppConfig approach, which lets you customize the Tableau experience—including sign-in, configure app policies, and provide additional security and governance controls. With this announcement, alongside the recent support for Tableau Mobile deployments with Citrix Endpoint Management and Microsoft Intune, BlackBerry Dynamics platform, and MobileIron, Tableau now supports the most prevalent Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms in the industry, giving IT administrators more flexibility and choice for managing your deployments and devices.

What's next for Tableau Mobile?

We are gearing up for the release of the redesigned Tableau Mobile app for iOS and Android. The new app brings a much improved navigation experience, powerful search, seamless linking across views, interactive offline previews and support for AppConfig customizations for both platforms right off the bat. To participate in the beta, follow the instructions for downloading it on the iOS or Android platform.

Please note: This new app will not immediately support the managed-app deployment approach, usually referred to as Mobile Application Management (MAM). We will work to add support for MAM in the near future.
