Last fall we announced the launch of an additional Tableau Online data center on Amazon Web Services. Today, we’re excited to let the Tableau community know that we’re launching a brand-new EU pod on AWS to better serve our European customers. Additionally, we’re also moving our first-generation pods (10AY and 10AZ) to AWS on the West Coast of United States.
What does this mean for you?
If you’re a Tableau Online customer already using AWS data services, these new data centers on AWS will garner faster load times with live connections and speedier extract refreshes.
If your Tableau Online site is currently located on one of our first-generation Tableau Online pods (10AY or 10AZ), your sites will be migrated over to the new AWS pods in the coming weeks. Visit the Tableau Online upgrade page to learn more about this move.
As Tableau Online continues to spread around the world, we continue to invest in Tableau Online to grow and improve its features and to make it more stable and flexible for our customers. We’re excited about building these additional pods on AWS because it allows us to focus on innovation and delivering great Tableau Online features. With the heavy infrastructure management left to the experts at AWS, we can focus on continuing to deliver the best analytics platform on the market today.
Want to move your site to a new pod?
If you’re a current Tableau Online customer, you will soon have the opportunity to migrate your site to the new EU data center or the new West Coast pods. Contact your Tableau account manager for more information.
