Tableau Online in the Classroom

It can be challenging when a successful educational experience relies on usage of an array of disparate technology platforms, especially those that are desktop-based, as they may only work on certain devices, with specific processing speeds.

Like many others, Podium Education has found that Tableau Online provides a more seamless learning experience for students as they only have to login, and can do so from any computer connected to the internet. This allows them to expand student access while increasing outcomes. Administering accounts is easy, but the initial setup can be daunting with the variety and complexity of Tableau Online permission levels.

In this session, Eric and Owen detail how Podium Education, an OPM, uses Tableau Online to facilitate coursework, focusing primarily on account setup, permissions levels, and Canvas integration. Eric provides his perspective as an online administrator and Owen provides his as a student using it throughout the course.

All instructors at accredited academic institutions are eligible for a free Tableau Online site. Request your site here.
