Please join us on Friday, July 14 for the Tableau Administrators Virtual User Group.
- Welcome & Introduction by Mark Wu, Tableau Ambassador
- Creating Server Monitor Views by Alexander Mou, Tableau Ambassador
- Understanding Tableau Server Permissions by Mark Wu, Tableau Ambassador
- Live Q&A
We will walk through how to create custom admin views to monitor various activities on Tableau server, based on server data dictionary such as refresh errors, stats, blending data with other enterprise data etc. We will also introduce a viz for Tableau server data dictionary lookup.
Tableau Permissions can be very robust and very confusing. What is site role? What is the difference between site role ‘publisher' vs project level permission 'publisher’? How do you set permissions at project, workbook and view level? How do you manage published data source permission? How does web edit permissioning work? Can web edits save back? What happens if someone saves back? What are the best practices?
