New Zealand local councils are closer to their communities than ever before, with the wellbeing of citizens today and of future generations at the forefront of the Government's focus. The re-introduction of community wellbeing in the Local Government Act 2002 has meant that councils are becoming more data-driven to improve the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of their citizens.
In this session you’ll hear from Mubashir Mukhtar, Data Scientist at Taituarā — Local Government Professionals Aotearoa, who has created Tableau dashboards based on four aspects of wellbeing. You’ll find out how his dashboards have helped local councils gain insights about their citizens and ensure that New Zealand people are able to live lives of purpose, balance and meaning, while remaining focused on solving challenges and addressing the needs of those who are vulnerable in the community.
