Tableau has partnered with Women in Analytics (WIA) to host a series of virtual events on Mitigating Bias in Analytics. In this event, Rehgan Avon, founder of WIA will sit down with Nicole Silver, Founder of AI Leadership Institute and Women in AI.

Noelle is a multi-award-winning technologist who specializes in conversational AI and Voice Technology, Intelligent Apps and Agents, and Responsible AI Practices. She has lead teams at NPR, Microsoft, and Amazon, and is the Founder of #Lovefluencers and the AI Leadership Institute. She is passionate about Mindful Leadership, authentic personal branding, and the ethical and responsible use of technology in business.

Nicole and Rehgan will dive deep into the different types of biases that can take place during the algorithm design and build process and the techniques to address them.

She is currently Head of Instruction, Data Science, Analytics, and Full Stack Development at HackerU, where she works with universities and leads a team of engineers to create innovative tech education programs to empower learners to get started with a career in the tech industry.

Rehgan Avon

Founder/President, Women in Analytics

Rehgan Avon owns her own analytics consultant company helping organizations identify opportunities to improve their analytic development capabilities. With a background in integrated systems engineering and a strong focus on analytical technology, Rehgan has worked on architecting solutions and products around operationalizing machine learning models at scale within the large enterprise. Rehgan’s previous experience has been fueled by a passion for early-stage startups and product development, holding positions as Head of Solutions at Mobikit, Solutions Architect at ModelOp, Lead Data Engineer at Clarivoy, and Product Manager at StepOne. She also teaches courses in python, data science, and web development at MBA programs nationally through an education startup company, Cognitir. She is the founder and CEO of Women in Analytics, an organization that increases visibility to women making an impact in the analytics space by providing a platform for women to lead the conversations around the advancements of analytical research, development, and applications. She remains active and involved in fostering collaboration around emerging analytical methods and technologies. She is also the recipient of Columbus CEO’s Future 50 award.
