About the Speakers
Erin Lynch Moran - The Solas Group
Erin has more than 20 years of experience serving fundraising professionals. She began her career in prospect research, and has gone on to oversee areas as diverse as advancement services, operations, donor relations, communications, alumni relations, and annual giving. For eight years, Erin was the campaign director for DePaul University’s largest and most successful fundraising effort, the Many Dreams, One Mission campaign. Having also served as an interim VP for Advancement (a role to which she did not aspire!), Erin has a unique understanding of the pressures faced by campus leaders.
Erin holds a BA in theatre with honors from Grinnell College and an MA in English with distinction from DePaul University. She is a graduate of Harvard University’s Management Development Program within the Graduate School of Education. Erin has spoken on advancement services and campaign-related topics at many APRA and CASE conferences, and she has repeatedly been a guest lecturer for graduate courses in fundraising, teaching on topics such as prospect identification, campaign planning, and donor motivation.
Ron Eisenstein - The Solas Group
A founding partner of The Solas Group, Ron considers it a privilege to have built a career on applying his technology skills toward helping others. Prior to co-founding The Solas Group, Ron worked for 17 years at DePaul University where he implemented many key innovations, including automating Depaul’s gift processing functions, spearheading a portfolio optimization process, and building a suite of powerful data visualizations. Ron’s team was selected in 2015 as the inaugural recipient of the CASE Platinum Award for Best Practices in Advancement Services. Prior to that, he received five other awards in the profession including a Circle of Excellence Award for Creative Use of Technology in Fundraising. He has been a featured presenter at speaking engagements for AASP, CASE, DRIVE, APRA, MMOTM, and CAISD. Ron has also provided client educational programming for Tableau Software, which recently selected The Solas Group to be its first and only Alliance Partner focused exclusively on serving the higher education and nonprofit fundraising community. Ron earned a B.A. in political science and business with honors from Washington University in Saint Louis, and an M.S. in information systems with distinction from DePaul University.
