Roundtables

Roundtables are networking based, live video chats centered around a specific topic. Topics are created by attendees (ex: include “Creating a culture of analytics” to “Less is more, how to simplify dashboards for complex insights” to “Looking for Tableau Prep newbie best practices”). As the host of a roundtable, you can mark it as public (any attendee can attend) or private (you invite specific attendees only). Please refer to Roundtables.

Click 'Create Roundtable' on the top right of the page. Fill out all of the information. Please select August 26 as the Roundtable date. Note that you are required to invite at least one attendee to your roundtable. Roundtables are limited to 6 attendees. When all information is complete, select 'Create Roundtable'. It will display in your list of 'My Roundtables' and in the 'All Roundtables' if it is public.

Several minutes before the start of your Roundtable, navigate to the 'Roundtables' table in the main navigation and scroll to the 'My Roundtables' section. Locate the roundtable that is about to begin. Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner and select 'launch'. Window will open with Roundtable. Make sure video and microphone are enabled. Select the "lock" on left side of web address. Allow camera and microphone.

As a host, you can determine if your roundtable is public (open to any attendee) or private (invite only). Public roundtables are displayed in the 'All Roundtables' section. Private roundtables do not display here and only display in the 'My Roundtables' section for those that are invited to the private roundtable.

You can browse the list of public roundtables in the 'All Roundtables' section of the page. To join one, find your desired roundtable, and select the 3 dots in the top right and click 'join'. This will add the roundtable to your 'My Roundtables' section. You can filter through public roundtables by selecting an 'Area of Interest' or you can search by a keyword. Private roundtables will not display in the list of 'All Roundtables'.

You can only join a private roundtable if you were invited by the host. Roundtable invitations will display in the 'My Roundtables' section of the page. Once you see the Roundtable on your screen, simply click on the 3 dots at the top right of the Roundtable and select 'Accept' or 'Decline'.

You can accept or decline from the email notification. Or, you can go to the Roundtables tab, click the 3 dots in the top right hand corner and click Accept or Decline.

You can begin scheduling roundtables when the event site opens. We recommend that all roundtables be scheduled on August 26 and take place during the event.

Roundtables are limited to a total of 6 people (including the host). If you are the host, you are required to invite at least one other attendee to the roundtable.

You can launch a roundtable you have been invited to. Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner and select "launch". Window will open with Roundtable. Make sure video and microphone are enabled.

If the Roundtable you want to join is full, feel free to start another one on the same topic. Make it public to encourage others to join you.

Only the person who set up the Roundtable can remove an attendee.

Networking

Yes. Go to their profile and click 'Message'.

Yes! Try our networking Roundtables. These are small group video sessions surrounding a topic created by an attendee. Please refer to the Roundtables section for more information on creating and joining Roundtables.

When you find an attendee you’re interested in connecting with, simply click 'Connect' under their profile.

Artificial intelligence will match you with attendees in similar industries, roles, and with similar interests to your own to make it easier for you to connect with the right people.

The video bio that you publish on your profile is a great way to humanize your virtual self. It’s also added the Hello Data People section on the Attendees page so that attendees with similar interests can quickly get to know you and connect!

This helps us make sure you’re seeing the sessions and other content relevant to your interests. Go to the My Profile tab. Next to "Personalize My Areas of Interest", click the pencil. Choose your areas.

Upon registering for Tableau Live Asia Pacific, all registrants have agreed to the storing and processing of personal data by Tableau and by Salesforce, as described in the Tableau Privacy Statement and the Salesforce Privacy Statement, respectively.

While we don’t recommend it, you can turn your profile to Incognito Mode to hide yourself from the networking and search features. Going Incognito means other attendees cannot find nor interact with you.

If you see anything that you think is inappropriate, email events@tableau.com immediately with the details and location of the inappropriate content.

Hello Data People! videos are displayed based on the areas of interest you selected and you can filter the videos based on those areas of interest. If you would like to see more videos that relate to different areas of interest, please to the My Profile tab and next to “Personalize My Areas of Interest”, click the pencil. Choose your areas and refresh your page to see them updated. You will then see different videos on the Attendee page.
