Upgrading to Tableau Desktop 2022.2

Planning an upgrade to Tableau Desktop 2022.2? Start here!

OneDrive and Sharepoint Online Connector

Access shared files in this new connector.

With the new Connector for OneDrive and Sharepoint Online, users can now access shared OneDrive files and files in Sharepoint document libraries directly from Tableau.

New Product Language: French (Canada)

See and understand data in your local language. We've expanded our language options to include French (Canada), making Tableau feel more familiar for French (Canada) speakers.

In-product Exchange

Access the Tableau Exchange from Tableau Desktop.

It is now even easier to leverage trusted offerings from the Tableau Exchange right where you work in Tableau. Dashboard Extensions and Tableau Accelerators from the Tableau Exchange are accessible directly in Tableau Desktop as part of the core authoring experience.

Other Resources

Sharing workbook with others?
If you know what versions other viewers will use to open your workbook, you can use the Export As Version… option. This will let other users in your organization open and edit a workbook even when they aren't using the latest version of Tableau Desktop (down to Tableau 10.2).

You might receive an error when publishing your workbook. See this Knowledge Base article for more information.

Test it out first!
Take a look at the Known Issues and install the most recent version of Tableau Desktop to make sure everything works as expected.
  • You can install multiple versions of Tableau Desktop on the same computer. For example, if 2020.1 is the most recent version installed it will become the default.
  • Change your default back by following the instructions here: Upgrading Tableau Desktop.

Installing on a new computer?
You'll have to transfer your license from one computer to the other. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop and Move or Deactivate Tableau Desktop in Tableau Help.
