In the wake of the Brexit vote, many of us here at Tableau were interested in exploring the raw JSON data that was generated showing voting results by districts/unitary areas and Parliament constituencies.

And here we are, 26 weeks into Makeover Monday, a fun social data experiment that Andy Cotgreave and I have been running this year. What really surprised us is the way the community has engaged with us and with each other.

With the upcoming launch of Tableau 10, we wanted to do something special to celebrate you, our amazing community that makes Tableau so unique.

Andy Kriebel and I ran our first-ever live #MakeoverMonday at Tableau Conference On Tour in London last week. I had a great time, and if you’re heading to Austin for our US conference in November, you’ll be able to participate there!

Tableau 10 includes several new features to help you configure and manage your deployment with ease. We’ve added new features to give administrators and IT more control over Tableau Server deployments and upgrades.

Many of us rely on a scheduled extract refresh to update our vizzes. And when a refresh fails without notice, we might unknowingly base our decisions on stale data. Tableau Server 10 includes an email-notification feature. It alerts all affected parties when a failure occurs, and suggests a fix for that failure.

We believe in going beyond discovering insights to driving meaningful change across the entire organization. To achieve this, people across teams must work together, communicating their insights and leveraging each other’s work. And you, IT, are the central actor that makes all of this possible.

Tableau 10 includes a new feature to help small-business owners: a connector to QuickBooks Online! If you are one of the millions of people who rely on QuickBooks Online to track your expenses, prepare for taxes, or invoice your customers, you might be as excited as we are about this feature.

I have been converting Tableau files from one version to another version quite frequently. So I decided to create a web-based conversion tool. This tool opens a TWB file in memory and loads the contents in a window, converts the version of Tableau, then saves a new TWB file.
