Top 10 Announcements from Keynote at Tableau Conference 2025
Alright DataFam, we eagerly awaited the Tableau Conference, and TC25 did not disappoint! The main keynote, "Data and Analytics for the Agentic Era," was all about turbo-charging your journey from raw data to actionable insights with agentic analytics—and it included exciting announcements about new capabilities and resources to empower our customers and community.
Tableau CEO Ryan Aytay took to the main stage to share more on Tableau Next, the world’s first agentic analytics platform. Ryan invited Box Global CIO Ravi Malick to the stage, where he did a live mobile demo—and yes, Ravi actually pulled out his phone on stage in front of thousands of people to share how he monitors key metrics in Tableau and gets AI-powered insights from anywhere, anytime.
Next, Tableau Chief Product Officer Southard Jones took us under the hood of Tableau Next. He showed us the power of Tableau Semantics, the AI-driven semantic layer that enriches data with business knowledge so people and agents know what your data actually means. He then walked through some incredible features that make our lives easier—including Data Pro, Concierge and Inspector, the pre-built agentic analytics skills of Tableau Next and Agentforce, and a Marketplace for sharing, reusing, and governing analytics assets.
Tableau CMO Rekha Srivatsan spoke with Tableau Public Ambassador Harim Jung, who built a climate change visualization using Tableau Agent to monitor global CO2 emissions. Rekha then highlighted a new Slack workspace for the Tableau Community to connect and learn from each other, as well as a new blueprint for navigating your AI and data strategy for agentic analytics.
It’s no doubt TC25 set the stage for what to expect in this new era. Now let’s dive into the details from each of the top 10 keynote announcements.
Tableau Semantics
Tableau Semantics is an AI-powered semantic layer that infuses raw data with business meaning. It centralizes metrics, calculations, and definitions into a single, governed layer, enabling the creation of trusted data models, accelerating self-serve analytics, and providing AI agents with rich business context. Tableau Semantics is generally available now.

Skill: Data Pro
A pre-built agentic analytics skill for Tableau Next and Agentforce, Data Pro assists analysts and data stewards in building semantic models more efficiently through relationship suggestions and auto-generated calculated fields. Data Pro will be generally available in Tableau Next in June 2025.

Skill: Concierge
This pre-built agentic analytics skill allows business users to obtain instant, trusted answers to their questions in natural language, directly within their workflow, accompanied by interactive visualizations for improved decision making. Concierge will be generally available in Tableau Next in June 2025.

Skill: Inspector
This pre-built agentic analytics skill enables users to track key metrics and receive real-time alerts when changes occur, facilitating proactive monitoring and timely action. Inspector will be in beta in Tableau Next in June 2025.

Marketplace
The Marketplace in Tableau Next will allow for sharing, reusing, and governing analytics assets, helping to reduce business intelligence sprawl and improve team alignment. Initial capabilities will include standardized dashboard templates, with future plans for external asset sharing and monetization. Marketplace will be generally available in Tableau Next in October 2025.

Tableau Add-on for Google Workspace
Embed worksheets, dashboards, and Tableau Pulse metrics from your Tableau environment directly into Google Slides and Google Docs with the Tableau Add-on for Google Workspace (support for Google Sheets is coming later this year). This integration provides a one-click refresh mechanism, ensuring that teams can always access the most current insights without leaving their familiar Google Workspace. The Tableau Add-on for Google Workspace is generally available as of April 2025.

AI in Tableau Server
We're collaborating with the Tableau Community and partners to integrate our platform APIs into open-source AI frameworks. For example, see our integration with Langchain. This empowers any Server customer to build agents that leverage Tableau APIs and take actions on their Server environment. Open-source tools like these are available for customers to use with Tableau Server today.

Separately, we are investigating, but not yet committed to, how we could bring the functionality of Tableau Agent to Tableau Server. In this case, the front-end would be the Tableau Agent experience, but customers will have flexibility in architecting the backend (LLMs, frameworks, etc.).
Tableau Agent in Tableau Public
We’re adding Tableau Agent to Tableau Public, making AI-powered viz creation easier than ever. Collaborate with Tableau Agent to build dashboards faster, no expertise required. Tableau Agent in Tableau Public is expected to be generally available in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Tableau Blueprint for Agentic Analytics
The new Tableau Blueprint for Agentic Analytics is your framework for becoming a truly data- and AI-driven organization. It outlines the processes and best practices for succeeding in the agentic era—because tech alone isn’t enough. The blueprint is available as of April 2025.

Tableau Community Slack workspace
The DataFam now has a new Slack workspace for connecting, learning, and growing together. This is your new go-to hub for collaboration, shared expertise, and all things Tableau. The workspace is available as of April 2025.
