Nissan North America scaled Tableau adoption to every dealership and affiliate location nationwide. As early Tableau adopters, Pfizer now supports 25,000 people globally, helping to improve patient experiences across the world. Charles Schwab broadened Tableau access to 85% of the company, with 45% of employees in the platform daily. JPMorgan Chase has scaled self-service analytics to more than 30,000 people in one of the most highly regulated industries. Last year, we raised the bar on powerful analytics and ease of use. We added new features to answer sophisticated questions more easily and naturally—from powerful interactive analytic capabilities such as set and parameter actions, to advanced geospatial analytics and augmented analytics.

Ask Data makes the full power of Tableau's platform as easy to use as Google. Type a question with natural language and get an answer in the form of an interactive visualization.

Explain Data uses AI and powerful Bayesian statistical methods to help you understand the “why” behind unexpected values in your data. Delivered as vizzes, these explanations can be further explored with the full power of Tableau.

Better governance, visibility, and trust

This year we expanded our platform with powerful and flexible Data Management capabilities to help people govern, discover, prepare, and trust their data.

With Tableau Prep, self-service data preparation is visual, direct, and smart. We introduced Prep Conductor to operationalize your data pipelines—with scheduling, monitoring, and alerting, you can automate your data prep processes so data is always fresh.

Tableau Catalog makes it easy to get a complete view of the data being used in Tableau, including accurately understanding relationships in your data through lineage and impact analysis. Your business glossary, certifications, and data quality warnings are available at the point of consumption—now any user can understand what the data means and where it came from.

Choice and flexibility for organizations of all sizes

We believe that you should have choice and flexibility to deploy analytics anywhere, leverage all of your data, and integrate with the platforms that matter to you. Tableau supports your analytics strategy wherever your data may be—on-premises, in the public cloud, or via our SaaS offering, Tableau Online.

The new Tableau Server Management offers administrators increased operational efficiency, improved scalability, and enhanced security for your mission-critical analytics environment. In the public cloud, we’re excited to offer Tableau on Alibaba Cloud in addition to our deployment options on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure. And last year we doubled the number of people on Tableau Online, driving an expansion in regional data centers.

Building a Data Culture

We know that data-driven transformation requires a lot more than the right technology. That’s why we launched Tableau Blueprint—a step-by-step methodology that helps you define your analytics strategy, enable new skills and behaviors, and build your Data Culture.

A critical part of becoming data-driven is increasing data literacy and skills. Our live training, eLearning, and certifications are helping people prove their skills, grow their careers, and differentiate themselves in the workforce. In the classroom, we’re helping to educate the next generation of data natives. Tableau Academic Programs have now activated more than 1 million free licenses for students and teachers around the world.

Not just an analytics platform—it’s a movement

There is no better representation of what makes Tableau unique than the Tableau Community. Beyond the product, our community is both why and how we’ve succeeded together, supporting people and organizations that make the world a better place. At TC19, we announced our community grew to more than 1 million members with 500+ user groups in more than 65 countries. And Tableau Public, now the largest data visualization repository in the world, hosts more than 2 million vizzes totaling over 2.3 billion views.

We're proud to be a part of a community that's changing the world. We're accelerating our work through Tableau Foundation in areas of poverty, inequity, global health, and climate change. In addition to new employee engagement programs, last year we announced additional funding to accelerate the PATH-led efforts to eliminate malaria across six countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
