Saving Lives, One Viz at a Time

The HITECH act stimulated billion-dollar investments in Health Information Technology. Electronic Medical Records and other transactional clinical systems offer a valuable, relatively untapped data sources that can improve quality of care, enhance patient safety, and decrease costs. Creative targeted visualizations offer a powerful way to communicate vital information and best practices to clinicians as they provide care to their patients. In this interactive session, attendees will first hear about some of the most recent clinical uses of visualizations in care delivery, and then work with the presenters to design an impactful care visualization built from a clinical data set created just for this session.
