I accidentally fell into the world of data visualisation, discovered Tableau, and have been poking around ever since. I'm known for holding work dashboards to unreasonably high standards, and answering forum questions with a mix of blunt honesty and the occasional dose of sarcasm. A data analyst for about 12 years and a Tableau user for 9, Currently a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst for The Myers-Briggs company, maintaining and creating dashboards for the company Tableau Cloud, after a recent migration from Server to fit alongside Salesforce and Data Cloud, as well as providing self-serve and in depth analytics to various teams. A fan of playing with the complicated aspects of Tableau and different data sources for experimental purposes as well as creating readable and aesthetically pleasing visualisations to get information across effectively.

I was first introduced to Tableau nearly a decade ago while studying business intelligence at the University of Texas at Dallas, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Up until about two months ago and for roughly three years, I served as Tableau Analytics Director within Experian’s Global Finance organization, where I led a team of talented developers ensuring the right data reached the right people in the right way. Along the way, I bridged gaps between product capabilities and organizational needs by building scripts and applications that extended Tableau beyond its out-of-the-box features. These efforts helped drive efficiency and scale across a Tableau Server environment supporting 2,700+ internal users. Today, I continue to share and teach Tableau best practices while also serving as a Machine Learning / AI Engineering Manager at Experian. In this role, I lead a team developing and deploying solutions that harness the rapid advancements in ML and AI. I’ll likely look back on my time in this role as being one of the greatest and most hectic challenges of my career! When I design dashboards, I hold to the principle of delivering the maximum amount of information in the minimum amount of time and space. That philosophy is influenced by the work of Edward Tufte, Stephen Few, and more recently, Matt Harrison in Effective Visualization. And no, dashboards are not dead. Heather Cox is known for stretching Tableau in unexpected directions, with an escape room, a Monty Hall simulation, a medication map, and even a Eurovision parody with AI-generated songs. Her 2024 Iron Viz Marathon viz turned the spotlight on herself, tracking every hour she poured into her entry for the 2025 competition. The results revealed two truths: if you spend the month chasing down a data source, you risk running out of time, and if you don’t get enough sleep, you’ll run out of brain. With a knack for mixing playfulness and precision, she shows how data can entertain, enlighten, and occasionally be made to sing karaoke.

Heidi has made it her mission to promote and improve diversity in the data community, especially through her work as founder and co-leader of Data + Women Germany, as well as her co-leadership of Rheinland TUG. Jack first entered the Tableau Community 7.5 years ago when applying to be a part of The Information Lab's Data School program in London. Since then, he has moved to New York City to drive the growth of The Information Lab in the US market as Director of Consulting & Partnerships. Jack has been a Tableau User Group Ambassador for 5 years through the New York City and Tableau Prep TUGs. Outside of the profession, Jack is passionate about fitness and sports. James Emery works at Georgia Tech in Atlanta and has been using Tableau since 2018. A Tableau Ambassador since 2021, he co-leads the Higher Education TUG and enjoys sharing knowledge in the Forums, Community Slack, and Tableau subreddit. James has attended Tableau Conference every year since 2019 (including two virtual ones) and enjoys helping others solve problems and grow their data skills. Jane Kamata is a Computer Science and Business Administration student at Northeastern University (graduating Spring 2026), concentrating in Business Analytics. High school robotics introduced her to Tableau, but the ability to combine analytical and creative skills has kept her vizzing since. Jared Flores is the founder of Data Flow with a wide range of experience from cloud database solutions, data preparation and engineering, and data visualization. Dr. Jason Davidson is an Assistant Professor in the Lacy School of Business, where he teaches Data Analysis and Business Modeling, Business Intelligence, Data Network Engineering, and introductory management information system courses. With a background in media development, prior to joining the faculty at Butler, he worked in the technical publishing industry. Along with teaching, he currently serves as an IT consultant for regional businesses in the Indianapolis area and is currently serving as the Vice President of the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering EECT division. He holds a B.A. in telecommunication arts from Butler University, an M.B.A. from Morehead State University, and Ph.D. in technology management and engineering from Indiana State University. He was the recipient of the 2018 Lacy school of business Dean’s Teaching award, 2023 Experiential teaching award, and was the 22-23 outstanding professor of the year. He lives in Indianapolis, IN. with his wife Sarah and Son Miles.

Jay Young is a Consultant with Slalom, a Tableau Certified Consultant, and 5x Salesforce Certified. He specializes in data visualization, data architecture and engineering, and automation scripting. He has supported clients across the US and globally to build dashboards, provide Tableau support, and build scalable, sustainable infrastructure. Johan de Groot is founder of Antichaos - an analytics agency focussed on data visualization and -analytics.
