Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA), a global leader in rapid-fire, easy-to-use business analytics software, today announced that Locar Transportes e Guindastes Intermodais S/A., one of Latin America’s largest special transportation companies, is using Tableau for financial reporting and analysis. Locar selected Tableau for its data integrity, ease-of-use and ability to access accurate information in real-time in just a few clicks.

Locar, the largest crane lifting cargo company in Latin America, was seeking software capable of collecting, organizing and providing information to make decisions, while at the same time offering innovation in the financial and sales process. That’s when the CFO of Locar, Gilmar Silvia, was introduced to Tableau.

“After the presentation of the software, we were impressed with how user-friendly it is and the fast results obtained by using Tableau,” states Silva.

Locar began to use Tableau mainly for financial data. “Little by little, we began using Tableau for new aspects of our business, including sales, operations, inventory and fleet maintenance,” added Silva.

According to Silvia, speed is one of the main benefits of Tableau. “Our executives are learning to use the tool to improve processes, increasing the flow of information throughout the entire organization,” said Silva.

Currently, 20 Locar employees are using Tableau as part of their daily activities. Before Tableau came long, each financial report was done by hand and took a long time to complete. There were also concerns about integrity of information, due to the handling of large volume of data. Data management was indeed an arduous task that’s been made simpler with Tableau.
