So we asked you to share the data leaders who inspire you, day in and day out. And we were blown away by your responses!

Tableau is an outlier in the world of BI. Unlike so many tools, it really focuses on making the analytical journey a joy. It’s easy to get lost in the analysis and realize all the findings you have. But once you learn this (or anything else in Tableau), how do you get others to do it? How do you increase adoption or spread this like wildfire?

 As healthcare providers adopt new practices to align with the value-based care paradigm and enterprise business objectives alike, they are critically challenged with implementing repeatable processes to improve supply chain efficiency, revenue cycle management, and clinical productivity. Here are four ways data is improving healthcare operations.

Does geography influence your business? Is location the focus of your analysis? Nearly everyone looking for insights into data will answer yes to these questions at some point. For many of you, working with spatial data is a daily requirement. For you and the rest of the map geeks out there, Tableau 10.2 includes a native connector to spatial data. This capability will make working with any spatial data much easier while improving the performance of working with custom polygons.

I recently found an article showcasing 2016 in charts, and I really liked the slope charts with the area shaded between the two categories being compared. I found this to be a really cool technique for making a point and telling the story. I wanted to see if I could recreate this in Tableau, so here's how it's done. I'm using the Superstore data in this example.

This is, without question, the most controversial chart type that I present. I almost saved it for last, lest you be offended by the subject matter and decide not to check out the rest of the posts in the series. But I actually get made fun of internally for how much I like this chart, so I’ve worked up a bit of bravery when broaching the subject of this one.
