We’re delighted that Gartner has once again recognized Tableau as a leader in their 2015 BI Magic Quadrant report. Gartner's Magic Quadrant is the result of research that surveys hundreds of end users to provide a comprehensive view of the market's key players. The report evaluated 24 different software vendors on 13 criteria and placed Tableau in the Leaders quadrant. Our customers feedback via submitted surveys were a key part of the research; we are very grateful that they took the time to complete Gartner's surveys.
We believe people are smart and creative. Our software is designed to liberate people’s natural curiosity and creative energy. It enables them to interact with their data in ways that were either impossible or too hard before – leading to discoveries that collectively transform their organizations.
The report makes clear that the BI market is in the midst of one of the most significant transformations in its history. There is a palpable and growing frustration with legacy solutions. Today business value is driven primarily by ease of use and time to value. A profound change is happening in buying centers. Budgets are shifting and there is a lot of fragmentation in new buying centers resulting in new edges to the market. Gartner found that the majority of new analytics investments are in data discovery platforms. Read the report to find out about Tableau‘s data discovery platform.
We believe that Tableau is the company that has helped redefine and expand the BI market. We have transformed people’s expectations about what they can discover in data and share without deep technical skills or training with a BI platform. We rate among the top vendors for aggregate product score, with particular strengths in the decentralized and governed data discovery use cases. Our customers report the highest data volumes with their Tableau deployments amongst the MQ vendors. Customers frequently cite our breadth and ease of use along with high business benefits as the primary reasons they choose Tableau.
Tableau users are enthusiastic about our product because the insights they’ve gained from Tableau have had a significant impact on their company and career.
We’re not satisfied and we’ll continue to push the envelope by making it easier and faster to explore data, driven by what our customers want and need. For example, Gartner sees a big opportunity and we are investing in the next generation of data preparation capabilities. With our upcoming 9.0 product, Tableau has built a foundation for self-service data prep in our connection window. We're making it even easier to automate data loading, modeling, and preparation while enhancing data quality. It’s an important area because it’s one of the most difficult and time consuming challenges facing business users today. In addition, we are investing in new and better ways to visualize and analyze data, in pattern discovery, in advancing our enterprise capabilities and in making it even easier to share findings with others.
