TC21's Iron Viz Winner, Lisa Trescott, discussed how she is helping faculty understand data across departments and identifying equity gaps through data for departments across the university.

Lisa Trescott

Lisa Trescott is a research analyst at MiraCosta College where she supports the efforts of student equity and achievement programs. In her role, Lisa uses Tableau to examine student outcomes, help identify students in need, and assist the college with strategic planning. She strives to help faculty and staff better understand the needs and challenges of disproportionately impacted groups, and is passionate about using data to facilitate change for MiraCosta’s most vulnerable students. Lisa has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master’s in Psychological Research from California State University, Long Beach. She has been using Tableau 4.5 years and was recently named Tableau’s 2021 Iron Viz Global Champion.

Jessica Lyons is a Senior Program Manager for Tableau for Teaching, Adjunct Professor, Data Strategist, and more importantly a mother to four amazing individuals. With Tableau for Teaching who partners with Educators across the World to leverage student success through Tableau software, course curricula, elearning, and a community of data enthusiasts. Jessica has dedicated the last 8 years to Data Analytics and Program evaluation as the foundation to creating strategic and international frameworks for student academic, emotional, and behavioral success.
