We’re proud to announce Tableau Online has successfully completed its SOC 2 Type II audit. We worked with MossAdams LLP, an independent certified public accounting firm, to perform an in-depth audit of the control objects and activities for Tableau Online. The Type II audit validates the strength of our controls over time and highlights our ongoing commitment to security.

The future of data is in the cloud. As options for cloud data emerge, we continue to add connections to them. We want to ensure Tableau customers can always work with all of their data. That's why we’re thrilled to share our plans to add a Google Cloud SQL connector to Tableau Online. Additionally, the Google Cloud SQL connector has been added to Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server as of today.
Multiple applications hosted on multiple systems usually results in one thing: many separate user accounts each with its own password. For the IT guy responsible for security, this presents a big problem. For one, how do you administer new users and remove old ones, maintain a common security policy, and handle all of those forgotten-email requests?

Tableau Online now offers a single sign-on experience that benefits both data explorers and their IT departments. In just a few clicks, companies can configure SAML 2.0 authentication for Tableau Online. This allows for seamless embedding of visualizations and Active Directory synchronization through corporate identity providers.
