The 5 Key Shifts for Successful Data-Driven Decision Making

"From the role that data, analytics and cloud play in driving more resilient businesses, to organizational change, the different data personas, the data flywheel, and demystifying data culture, you name it, they discussed it."

Are you a data-driven business?

In the current complex and changeable environment, decision-makers want a complete view of a rapidly changing landscape. They need their organizations to move with both speed and precision. In order to do that, they recognize the need to build a data culture and empower data-driven decision making across their whole organization. However, very few have been able to do this successfully.

For this reason, Tableau and AWS jointly presented our perspectives on unlocking the data value chain to senior European decision-makers as part of the IDC Data and Intelligence Digital Summit. Francois Zimmermann, Tableau’s Field CTO and Onkar Desphande, AWS Analytics Partner Segment Lead packed valuable insights and experiences into a 20-minute keynote presentation.

In preparation for the summit, IDC conducted research with 36 CxOs on behalf of AWS and Tableau, the results are telling:

  • Only 1 in 6 CxOs believed analytics is used consistently at all levels of their organization
  • And only 6% have embedded analytics in all their key workflows and applications
  • People - and their resistance to change - is seen as the single biggest challenge faced when trying to use data more effectively across their organization For highlights from the session, watch the post-event fireside chat moderated by IDC analyst Neil Ward-Dutton: Data. Insights. Action - Unlocking the Data Value Chain
