Gartner Positions Tableau Software as a “Leader” in Magic Quadrant Report for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms

Tableau Software, a global leader in rapid-fire business intelligence software, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned Tableau as a “Leader” in its 2013 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms* report. This is the first time that Tableau has appeared in the Leaders quadrant. Gartner defines the business intelligence (BI) and analytics platform market as a software platform that delivers 15 capabilities across three categories: integration, information delivery and analysis. The report evaluated 24 different software vendors on 13 different criteria and placed Tableau in the Leaders quadrant. In other analyst reports, including BARC’s annual BI Survey of worldwide business intelligence users, Tableau is cited for key strengths, including its intuitive interactive experience, direct query access, ease of deployment and ability to analyze large data sets.
