Tableau Software, the global leader in rapid-fire business intelligence software, today announced it has sold out its fifth annual Tableau Customer Conference (TCC12), held today through Thursday at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Having grown the conference by 75 percent over last year’s event, TCC12 is evidence that fast, easy visual analytics are in-demand for organizations of all sizes and industries.

TCC12 will feature a preview of Tableau 8.0, its visually stunning, analytically deep and enterprise-ready product release expected to be released in the first quarter of 2012. In addition to more than 50 customer speakers, the conference features more than 125 hours of hands-on training, 13 tracks of knowledge-sharing sessions and five major keynotes. There are also countless opportunities for networking among like-minded people looking to help creative thinkers in their organizations see and understand data. People can follow the conference proceedings by following the Twitter hashtag #tcc12.

Tableau co-founders, CEO Christian Chabot and CDO Dr. Chris Stolte, will kick off the conference with a keynote session entitled “Business Analytics at Human Scale Featuring Tableau 8.0.” A team of software developers will then take customers on an exciting and entertaining journey through the new capabilities of Tableau 8.0, the company’s most ambitious and exciting release yet.

Other featured keynotes include:

•Bestselling author and staff writer for The New Yorker Malcolm Gladwell will examine the kind of assumptions and models and insights that are necessary to make the best sense of data.

•Dr. John Medina will guide attendees through his Brain Rules, including how exercise improves the brain and how the executive function works to process information efficiently.

•Writer and speaker Steven Johnson will draw on his bestsellers to tell the extraordinary story of how ideas and innovation are often rooted in data.

•Cartoonist Larry Gonick will show how to use the visual language of comics to represent Big, Complex Subjects and describe the challenges and solutions involved in translating “information” into narrative.

The conference will follow a number of tracks for all levels of Tableau customer knowledge, including a Big Ideas track led by visionaries and scholars examining the history and future of information design and data visualization, and a number of tracks focusing on exploring and analyzing data, telling stories with data, working with data and sharing and collaborating analytical results. Customers can also get hands-on training to learn the latest tips and tricks and sign up for special pre and post-conference workshops. And lastly, no Tableau Customer Conference would be complete without a solid line-up of customer speakers who will share their Tableau success stories and discuss their business intelligence wins.

“Every year, our customers inspire us to put on a world-class conference that informs them and connects them to new ideas in the world of business analytics. This year’s sold-out conference is no different,” said Elissa Fink, Chief Marketing Officer at Tableau Software. “With our customers, we’re ushering in a new era of analytics and we are excited to share our passion with like-minded people.”

The Tableau 8.0 beta will be made available to everyone attending the Tableau Customer Conference.
