11:30 - 12:00 - Data Analytics Journey at Singapore Airlines
Casey will share highlights of the data analytics evolution at Singapore Airlines over two generations of data technologies in the cloud, starting from a vendor-specific batch-mode data ingestion pipeline, evolving into an ensemble of vendor and open-source pipelines. The first generation empowers business with data visualization and predictions through machine learning. The second-generation’s retooling effort is now in progress to deploy stream processing data pipelines, the adoption of more advanced AI through GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks, and constraint optimization technology to deliver additional business insights and values.

In this presentation, Andrew Vigneault from the Ask Data team will discuss how we are lowering the barrier to analytics and leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) as a tool for visual analysis. Want to learn more about large and complex deployments? What better way than to have a look behind the curtain to see how Tableau runs their own Tableau Server? In this session, Andrew will be going over the current deployment architecture internally at Tableau and speaking to the lessons learned over the years in regards to large, global, and complicated Tableau deployments.
Leslie has over 30 years of experience in the industry, in which he has held several leadership roles in VMware, Oracle and Hewlett Packard (HP), effecting instrumental change and success in those roles. Prior to joining Tableau, Leslie worked for VMware where he held the position of Regional Director for South East Asia and Korea, responsible for driving growth in the software-defined data centre solutions business and later in strategic partnerships.
In this current role at Tableau, JY leads a team of passionate team members in Asia Pacific responsible for building the region’s business, and more importantly helping customers obtain insights from their data.
