Resolved Issues

Issue ID Description

The OpenSSL component used to secure the external web interface was updated to 1.0.2k. This upgrade fixes several potential vulnerabilities disclosed for the OpenSSL component:

Apache Tomcat was upgraded to 7.0.75. This upgrade fixes a potential vulnerability in Tomcat: CVE-2016-8745.

Added file validation when using tabcmd to import users from a text file.

In some environments, loading an embedded published view in Internet Explorer would result in an "Unexpected error occurred" message.

With the embedded credentials setting disabled, non-admin users with permissions to download and republish data sources and workbooks could do so, and embed new credentials, for data sources and workbooks that had been published by an admin user with embedded credentials.

Mitigated an issue with creating extracts on the unsupported Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 (non-R2) operating systems. Beginning with Tableau 10.3, we will begin blocking installations on these operating systems.

When you edited the embedded username for a data connection in a workbook published via the REST API, the new username would fail to save.

The Background Task Delays administrative view had data incorrectly filtered out, resulting in a view that was often blank.

In some cases, editing a published workbook using web authoring would result in an internal error.

In some environments, Data Engine processes would go down intermittently with no apparent spike in resource consumption. Restarting Tableau Server would typically bring the processes back up.

Improved the performance of connecting to text files in shared network folders.

The Get Users in Group REST API call would sometimes return duplicate results.

The Query Workbook Connections REST API call would fail with an HTTP 500 error when using API version 2.4.
