After connecting to an Excel file and then changing the type of a field from, for example, Numeric to String, Tableau Prep Builder cannot assign the correct collation to this field. The missing collation causes an error to be thrown "ERROR: collation mismatch, use COLLATE statements to resolve". Likewise, if the field was used in an aggregation, a remapping operation or a join.
