    Speaker:
09:55-10:30 - Keynote: Self-Service in the Public Sector - Giving Data & Power to the People

The modern analytics platform is one that moves from a traditional business intelligence, IT-driven report factory to a robust, agile, self-service, IT-governed analytics platform. As Gartner stated in late 2017, modern analytics platforms are disrupting both the private and public sectors. Modern analytics platforms, like Tableau, are shifting the power and flexibility of analysis and decision-making from a solely IT-driven initiative to a collaborative approach that puts more capabilities into the hands of actual consumers of information and frees up stretched IT resources to focus on greater initiatives like modernization. Given these benefits, how quickly are public sector agencies adopting one single modern analytics platform and what are the common challenges slowing adoption?

    Speaker:
10:30-11:00 - Morning Break & Data Playground (Expo)

Take a short break to stretch and recharge. Have a chat with Tableau experts and our partners at the booths.

11:00-11:30 - Customer Speaker: Data Analytics for Urban Planning

URA has been harnessing data and analytics to enable more data-informed urban planning and deliver better planning outcomes. Hear about how URA has applied insights from data analytics for planning, built in-house development capabilities for digital planning tools, and equipped URA officers with the data analytics skills.

    Speaker:
11:30-12:00 - Customer Speaker: Beyond Smart Nation, Towards a Caring and Inclusive Home

National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) is helping everyone living in Singapore to develop lifelong habits of giving, building through an intelligent platform ecosystem (giving.sg) where data is critical to the success. The platform uses timely nudges and simple micro action to help individuals start giving in different ways and at different life stages, while weaving their actions together to form meaningful personal journey. It then connects these individuals with other stakeholders to learn about the community needs, co-create solutions to reach the last-mile and build linkages to achieve sustainable impact.
As giving always points to serving someone or something other than oneself, this will lead us to become a caring and inclusive society.

Is it art? Is it science? Is it both? Visual analysis in an iterative process for working with data that exploits the power of the human visual system. The formal core of visual analysis is the mapping of data to appropriate visual representations. But what exactly engages an audience effectively? Is it beauty? Is it clarity? Is it great storytelling? Join us for this dynamic conversation in today’s world of data visualization.

    Speaker:
14:40-15:20 - Analytically Amazing, Visually Stunning

How do you pull as much meaning from data with as little complexity as possible? Usually via a fine balance between visual presentation, statistics, and calculations.
