Tableau Empowers Organisations with Speed to Insight in Asia Pacific Virtual Event

Data de publicação:

Singapore, May 11, 2021 - Tableau, the world’s leading analytics platform (NYSE: CRM), today held the second edition of its virtual Tableau Live Asia Pacific event. Following the success of the inaugural run in 2020, this year’s event returns to bring together data enthusiasts, partners, and customers from the region to discuss how analytics can help drive the empowerment and agility organisations need today.

“There is no doubt of the need for agility today and the role data plays to enable this critical competency businesses require,” said JY Pook, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific & Japan, Tableau. “The use of analytics will set companies even further apart as businesses in the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region set their eyes on growth. By placing analytics into the flow of business and in the hands of all employees, businesses in APJ can confidently lead with insights and smarter decisions.”

This year’s Tableau Live Asia Pacific event featured a line-up of global executives, including Mark Nelson, the new President and CEO of Tableau, who shared his vision for the company and how data will drive better outcomes globally. JY Pook and Ashwin Sinha, Chief Data Officer, Macquarie Bank, then took to the stage for an inspiring fireside chat, where the iconic bank shared the significant organisational changes it made with data to deliver personalised experiences for customers. Following this, an exciting panel of thought leaders spoke at the keynote address; Francois Ajenstat, Chief Product Officer, Tableau, discussed how Tableau Business Science will empower people to make smarter decisions by democratising data science; Stephanie Richardson, VP Community, Tableau and Tableau customer Bentley Motors shared how data culture is the missing link to thriving in a data era; Shivvy Jervis, Futurist, dived into how human-centred innovation will shape our lives for the future.

Tableau customers in the region, including Agoda, Tokopedia, Mahindra Finance, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, and the Department of Disease Control (Thailand), spoke at various breakout sessions and Data Discussion panels. Their conversations featured key themes like data transformation in the retail and financial services industries, the future of analytics, and the building blocks of a strong data culture.

“As a technology company, Tokopedia is building the future of commerce and data is key to understanding what drives our customers’ purchase decisions,” said Charlie Tjandra, Head of Data Analytics, Tokopedia. “Working with Tableau has given us the ability to connect information from vital parts of the customer journey with machine learning and AI, identify changes in shopping patterns, and increase levels of collaboration across various departments in Tokopedia.”

Earlier this year, Tableau introduced Business Science, a new class of AI-powered analytics that enables business users and analysts to find solutions to problems with their data — all without having to learn traditional data science tools. Attendees at Tableau Live Asia Pacific had the opportunity to witness Business Science at work during the ‘What’s New in Tableau’ and ‘Data Skills for All’ tracks. Tableau unveiled Business Science through it’s Tableau 2021.1 update, the first product integration between Tableau and Salesforce Einstein Analytics, that brings core AI technology from Einstein Discovery to every Tableau user. In line with Tableau’s commitment to foster data communities and nurture connections, attendees also had the opportunity to connect with like-minded data enthusiasts via virtual “Roundtables”. For one hour, participants could build or join a virtual data community to exchange knowledge in a small group setting.
