Tableau Software, the leader in rapid-fire business intelligence, today announced Mark T. Schwendener has joined the company as Vice President, Global Channels and Alliances. Schwendener will drive strategy for domestic and international channel expansion and help partners generate revenue.

An industry veteran of more than 20 years, Schwendener most recently was the Director of Strategic Alliances at KPMG, LLP, where he was responsible for global strategic partners, including business plan and sales strategy development. He previously led and built channel relationships at Microstrategy and spent 11 years building the channel program at Information Builders. He has also worked on technology services partnerships with Deloitte, BearingPoint, IBM Global Services and Teradata.

“Mark will be instrumental in helping us to expand our various sales channels, both domestically and internationally,” said Kelly Wright, Tableau’s Executive Vice President of Sales. “He has an accomplished career in building partner programs and repeatable solutions in the software industry and has extensive international experience, living and working in five countries over the past 14 years.”

Last year, Tableau announced major improvements to the Tableau Partner Program, making it easier for partners to help their customers and to grow their businesses. In his new role, Schwendener will manage that program by maximizing sales revenue from indirect channels. Tableau’s indirect channels include resellers, VARs, referral partners, alliance partners, technology partners, distributors, OEMs and system integrators.

“Tableau has established a vibrant partner network that will only continue to expand as companies large and small recognize the value of visual analytics,” said Schwendener. “I look forward to contributing to that growth and helping Tableau partners generate more revenue by offering tools and resources to move the industry forward.”
Tableau currently has more than 350 partners around the world. Its products are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
