Chloe Tseng of Twitter, the Tableau Public author who started the Viz for Social Good website, has this to say:
"How can a data analyst change the world and help solve important social issues like the refugee crisis, hunger, and health issues? I wasn't a policy maker, a scientist, or a doctor, and always thought that I, a data analyst, didn't have the power to make a positive impact on the world.
Tableau Public gives me the power to make a difference. I first met Tableau Public, a tool for democratizing data, at the Fanalytics meetup during the 2015 Tableau Conference. Tableau Public provides a perfect means to share data stories via the web, and behind the tool there is a huge community of people who are passionate about data visualization. It's Tableau Public that allowed me to initiate my movement Viz for Social Good, a project to empower mission-driven organizations and increase awareness of social issues through beautiful and informative visualizations.
Through Tableau Public, Viz for Social Good tells meaningful and important data stories about gender equality, child refugees, global warming, and so on to educate and empower people to fight for changes. I finally found a way to make the world a better place."
