SUPERVALU Hitting its Stride with Tableau

As the PR Manager at Tableau, I have the awesome job of working directly with a lot of our customers. We work together to tell transformative stories – how Tableau has helped them to see and understand data like never before.

A couple of weeks ago, I met with some very smart folks from the SUPERVALU IT team. SUPERVALU is one of the largest U.S. grocery companies with 4,300 stores and 130,000 employees. As you can imagine, they have a LOT of data filtering into their disparate systems and needed a way to effectively analyze it.

Enter Tableau. In a short time, SUPERVALU has deployed Tableau Desktop to rapidly get information out to the people making decisions about the business. Each of their store directors is equipped with an iPad on which they observe daily sales trends, details about their labor force and other data in real-time.

SUPERVALU has big plans for expanding Tableau to more users in every area of the business. Their motto is, “The more we can empower them, the better off we will be.” We couldn’t agree more.
