Organizations with big data are over 70% more likely than other organizations to have BI projects that are driven primarily by the business community, not by the IT group.” This includes enabling business managers to directly access complex semi-structured or raw data in new storage technologies like Hadoop.

Across a gamut of uses – from tackling new business problems, developing entirely new products and services, finding actionable intelligence in less than an hour, and blending data from disparate sources – “… big data has fired the imagination of what is possible through the application of analytics.”

The report profiles Tableau OEM customer Zilliant. Zilliant’s software as a service platform converts revenue, profit and go-to-market objectives into actionable guidance, driving top- and bottom-line growth of 5 to 10 percent or more. Explains Zilliant Senior Vice President Eric Hills: “Providing visualization to our client’s business people and subject-matter experts is a key differentiator for Zilliant’s solution.”
