Seattle, Wash. – May 21, 2008 – Tableau Software®, the leader in fast analytics and visualization software, announced today that its Tableau Server was named a 2008 American Business Awards (ABA) finalist in the Best New Product or Service – Computer Software category. Tableau Server lets people easily share data visualizations and collaborate with colleagues using a simple browser-based interface. Users can have the application up in less than an hour, not weeks or months like most BI products.
“ABA entries grew more than 30 percent this year, so being named a finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. “It means that independent business executives have agreed that Tableau Software is worthy of national recognition.”
The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories.
“In today’s data-driven economy, the ability to analyze and interpret data is a necessary requirement of any job,” said Elissa Fink, VP marketing for Tableau Software. “We believe that this recognition is further proof of Tableau’s appeal to people who just want to ask questions of their data and get rapid-fire answers easily, intuitively and visually.”
Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.
