Tableau 8.0.4 was released yesterday evening, and we're excited to let you know about a couple of new data connectivity enhancements we've made. In particular, we've added a new connector to EXASOL's EXASolution and enhanced our Hadoop connectivity to support HiveServer2.

EXASolution is a relational, high-performance database designed for enterprise warehouse applications and business intelligence solutions. Many of EXASOLS's customers selected their platform because of their ability to process extremely large data sets very efficiently. Of course, at Tableau, we're all about Big Data and love connecting to platforms that are able to slice and dice through massive data volumes in real-time. Starting in Tableau 8.0.4, customers will be able to use the new EXASolution connector to quickly and easily access their data stored in the EXASolution platform.

Also new in Tableau 8.0.4 is the ability to connect to HiveServer2 through our supported Hadoop vendors (Cloudera, Hortonworks, and MapR). HiveServer2 provides a more reliable, secure, and robust connection experience to Hadoop. To take advantage of this new functionality, customers must download the latest Hive ODBC drivers from our Hadoop partners as well as Tableau 8.0.4.

We are also working on a number of other interesting data connectivity projects, so stay tuned for additional information in the upcoming months.
