Most top-ranked national universities offer analytics programs.
All but seven of the top 150-ranked national universities by U.S. News in 2016 offer formal
analytics programs. Of those seven universities, only one is ranked in the top 75.
Students are more likely to gain data skills in 4-year institutions
Twenty percent of four-year institutions offer at least one analytics program, compared with just over 2% for two-year institutions.
UW-Seattle leads with the most data programs
The University of Washington-Seattle leads with the most analytics programs. Next on the list are George Mason University, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Southern California.

The State of Data Education in 2016 is a study that provides a comprehensive listing of analytics programs in U.S. higher education institutions and explores the trends in the data education landscape.
The data set in this report is a comprehensive listing of analytics programs in all Title IV institutions (as of 2014) from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) that includes the results of web data collection, phone survey, and U.S. News ranking data.
