Thomas Hay

Director of Data Strategy, Uplift Education

Thomas Hay is the Director of Data Strategy at Uplift Education, a charter school network in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He first came to the education sector as part of the Education Pioneers Analyst Fellowship and was placed at Uplift Education in the fall of 2013. At Uplift, Thomas's focus has been using statistical models and visualization to help teachers and leadership answer questions on student performance. Before entering the education sector, he specialized in predictive analytics, discrete event modeling, risk analysis, and policy analysis while at Booz Allen Hamilton and was part of a team that won the 2012 Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) Innovative Applications in Analytics Award. Thomas holds a BS in materials science & engineering and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a Strategic Data Project Fellow, a program of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University.
