Visual Analytics for Evidence-Based Care at the Providence Brain and Spine Institute

Alyx Lesko has over 10 years of experience in healthcare, the last five years of which she has spent as part of the research team at the Providence Brain and Spine Institute (PBSI). Ms. Lesko has worked for Legacy Health and The Portland Clinic. She is currently the Quality and Research Manager for several service lines within PBSI, including stroke, epilepsy and concussion. She played an integral role in developing Providence’s first cross-state registry for the telehealth and stroke service line including early deployment of Tableau within Providence Oregon. In her role she has developed an evidence based platform for reporting, cross-state alignment on initiatives and care processes that serve the clinical, operational, quality and research needs of the organization.

Leslie Corless is the analyst for a 19 hospital telestroke system, providing data and analytic services to a diverse set of urban, rural and frontier hospitals throughout Oregon and Washington. In this role, Leslie helped develop, implement, validate a set of dashboards to allow individual programs to focus on the clinical, quality and satisfaction metrics related to the care of stroke patients in their facilities by both in-person and remote providers. Through this position, she is able to explore her interest in population health and health care delivery in resource limited settings, particularly around data utilization and education. Leslie received her MPH from Oregon State University in 2012. In addition to her professional duties, Leslie provides volunteer data services to a local non-profit, the Portland Rock and Roll Cam
