Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA) today announced that Bussan Auto Finance (BAF) has chosen Tableau to analyze its operation, marketing and finance data. BAF, the largest financing company for Yamaha motorcycles in Indonesia, has to-date served more than five million customers across the country.

BAF selected Tableau for its capability to help people see and understand data visually. This choice was made by BAF as part of its strategic efforts to improve visibility into its operations and facilitate data-driven decision making, which includes implementing and enhancing data warehousing, as well as adopting Tableau as a business intelligence platform.

Data analysts can simply use drag and drop actions to query and discover trends in their data. They can also create business reports and present findings using interactive dashboards.

Tirta feels that Tableau is also driving a positive transformation within the organization. Employees are now looking into people development with a more strategic and data-driven perspective. Tableau has also improved the quality of discussion and decision making in the company. There are also plans for BAF to recommend Tableau to its business partners.

Currently, 240 BAF staff from finance, marketing, operations and risk management departments are using Tableau to analyze about five terabytes of data each day. Employees particularly like that Tableau allows them to look at the same data set from different perspectives until they come to specific insights.
