Just over two weeks ago, we moved into our new Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park and all of us are very excited about the move. We are now less than three miles away from the Gates Computer Science Building, where the core Tableau technology was first developed by Pat and Chris.

The office is located in downtown Menlo Park with plenty of nearby restaurants and coffee shops. We have great access to public transportation, being a block away from the Menlo Park Cal Train station. Also right next to us is Burgess Park with its athletic fields, swimming pool and workout facilities.

The office itself is amazing. We have the top floor of the building with panoramic views of the surrounding foothills. With a spacious layout, the office has plenty of room to meet and collaborate. We also make sure that everyone is well fed and hydrated by keeping our kitchen well stocked.

I joined Tableau three months ago after spending nine years in the solar industry. What drew me to Tableau is the incredible energy around the company’s mission, which is to help people see and understand data. We are doing so by building revolutionary products that empower customers to analyze their data 10-100 times faster. While a number of analysts view the traditional BI market as a $10B+ market, we are dramatically expanding that market by bringing analytics to people that have never heard of business intelligence.

Drawing inspiration from Apple and Google, we are building insanely great products that are redefining the market. We regularly hear from customers about how our products have radically improved their impact at work and raised their job satisfaction. A core value of the company is delighting our customers and we really strive to deliver. Just ask our customers.

One of the key reasons I joined Tableau is the people and the culture. It’s been amazing working with colleagues that are talented, collaborative and enthusiastic about our mission, products and customers. We emphasize working smarter rather than longer, as we value the time we spend with our family and friends.

Although Tableau was founded ten years ago, we are still early in our growth. We are expanding our Silicon Valley presence, with focus on building our development and sales teams. We are looking for people that are excited about revolutionizing how people see and understand data. Hope you will consider joining us in our journey!

We are hosting an open house on March 1st. Come and learn about our company, our technology, and our plans. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the amazing team at Tableau Software and learn why I joined the company.
