Release Notes for Tableau 10.1.3
Note: Tableau Desktop customers in environments with Product Updates enabled will be prompted to upgrade a few days after a maintenance release is made available. For more information, see the Tableau Knowledge Base.
In the Tableau 9.3.10, 10.0.4, and 10.1.2 updates, data from Excel connections are inadvertently being treated as case-sensitive, causing many existing views to return incorrectly sorted data. 10.1.2 is removed from download site. This change is reverted and thus repaired in 10.1.3.
When you loaded a view in a browser, a "Cannot get access time of non-existent path" would sometimes occur.
After upgrading to Tableau 10.0 or above, it was no longer possible to web edit a view accessed via trusted authentication, even if you had permissions that allowed web authoring.
The "Background Tasks for Extracts" administrative view failed to load if you configured your Tableau Server to require SSL for all connections to the internal repository database.
When installing Tableau Server 10.0, and the backup of the existing server failed, the installer failed to abort and would incorrectly continue with the installation.
Loading some workbooks connected to Teradata, and containing a large number of complex calculated fields, was noticeably slower when upgrading from an older version to Tableau 9.0 or higher.
Turning off SAML authentication for Tableau Desktop connections to Tableau Server, using the "tabadmin wgserver.authentication.desktop_nosaml false" command, did not work as expected.
Tableau Data Extract query performance was noticeably slower, in some cases, after upgrading from Tableau 9.3 to 10.0 or higher.
In Tableau Server, if refreshing a Microsoft Access based extract failed for any reason, the file lock on the Access file would not be released. Successful extract refreshes correctly release the file lock.
Tableau Server Data Server processes would sometimes crash when extract-based data sources were utilized.
When a view was accessed via a filter action, in a workbook with sheets shown as tabs, an access view event was not logged in the Tableau Server historical_events table. The access view event would be correctly logged when a view was accessed manually by selecting its sheet tab.
When you loaded web authoring embedded in an iframe, and then saved your work, the view would reload with the full Tableau Server interface shown in the iframe instead of the expected embedded view interface.
Updated Curl to version 7.51.0.
In some cases, when viewing an embedded view with multiple sheet tabs on a mobile device, if you rotated the device from landscape to portrait orientation, or vice-versa, an unexpected error would occur.
When you had an OpenID authenticated Tableau Server, URL parameter filters would get stripped when loading embedded views.
Some workbooks containing date calculations, and connected live to Google BigQuery, would fail to load with an "Incorrect data type" error.
In some Tableau Server environments configured for high availability, File Store processes would appear to be constantly synchronizing.
In some cases, large, long-running scheduled extract refreshes would fail with an error: "Error: 40636: UploadOpen: error creating file"
Colors assigned to shape marks were lost when you published a workbook to Tableau Server.
In the Tableau 10.1.2 update, Excel connections were inadvertently changed to become case-sensitive, causing many existing views to break.
