Tableau Software, a global leader in rapid-fire business intelligence software, today announced it has been recognized by Bank of America Merrill Lynch for enterprise innovation. Tableau CEO and co-founder Christian Chabot accepted the honor on behalf of the company at the Technology Innovation Summit 2012 on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, California.

The Technology Innovation Summit is held annually to discuss key technology strategies, trends and needs in the financial services technology industry. Business and technology executives, investment bankers, venture capitalists and emerging technology companies share ideas and insights, providing a platform for innovation and opening the door for new partnerships. This was the first year a company was recognized for enterprise innovation and Tableau was the sole recipient.

Tableau helps Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyze and visualize large, complex data. Tableau is used throughout the organization, enabling employees at all levels to easily spot outliers and make key business decisions.

Ned Carroll, Information Management Operations and Analytics executive, presented the special recognition, “We met Tableau at the 2009 summit, and have since established a strong partnership. They have helped us to work with our large data assets by applying visualization technologies, which has enabled us to put power directly into the hands of analysts so they can better assist our customers and clients.”

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and happy to work with them to drive one of the most important trends in our industry – the consumerization of enterprise technology,” said Christian Chabot, CEO and co-founder of Tableau Software. “We are ushering business analytics out of the dark ages and into its golden era of fast, easy, visual self-service analytics for everyone.”
