I am pleased to announce that Tableau and Informatica are launching new direct integrations between our products with the aim of bringing together best-in-class data integration paired with rich visual analytic capabilities.
For more than two decades, Informatica has been the industry leader in helping organizations migrate and synchronize their data in addition to helping ensure quality and replication. Their innovation in the ETL space in combination with Tableau’s mission to help people see and understand their data is what truly makes these new integrations so powerful.
Today Informatica and Tableau are jointly announcing the ability to generate Tableau Data Extract (TDE) files direct from both Informatica Power Center and Informatica Cloud as well as from the newly announced Project Springbok. Additionally, Informatica Power Center and Cloud will have the capability to publish Tableau Data Extracts directly to Tableau Server and Tableau Online. This means that Tableau can be integrated directly into the data workflow for Informatica customers. Likewise, it means that Tableau customers can now directly leverage the power and scalability of Informatica’s enterprise data integration and self service data harmonization capabilities as part of their analytic workflow.
Lastly, Tableau will also add support for Informatica Data Services (IDS) as a native data source in a future release to speed up the time of insights gained from federated data.
