Tableau Software Appoints Scott Jones as VP, Americas Sales


Industry Veteran to Drive Sales and Services in North and South America

Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA), a leader in rapid-fire business intelligence, today announced Scott Jones has joined the company as Vice President, Americas Sales. Jones will lead the direct and pre-sales teams for the Americas, including Latin America.

An industry veteran, Jones spent 11 years in various leadership roles at SAP where he was most recently the Chief Operations Officer of the global Database and Technology Division. He also held other senior sales leadership roles at SAP and Business Objects. Prior to Business Objects, he worked for E.piphany, Group 1 Software and Dun and Bradstreet.

“Scott will be instrumental in helping us to expand our sales and services in the Americas and Latin America. He will help to grow both enterprise and commercial sales,” said Kelly Wright, Tableau’s Executive Vice President of Sales. “Scott has an accomplished career in strategic sales, building a culture of leadership, accountability and high performance and has vast knowledge of all distribution channels.”

Tableau sales efforts are built on a land and expand sales model. To facilitate rapid adoption of products, Tableau provides free trial versions of its products on its website and has created a simple pricing model with no minimum purchase requirements. After an initial trial or purchase the use of Tableau products often spreads across departments, divisions and geographies, via word-of-mouth, discovery of new use cases and sales efforts.
