In the Oracle connection dialog box, it is no longer necessary to select a schema to edit custom SQL for a connection, or to save changes.

Tableau Desktop could return "bad argument" errors when creating an extract from some IBM Netezza data sources.

When connecting to an Amazon Redshift database, Boolean fields were being incorrectly converted to string fields.

When connecting to a data source, it was sometimes not possible to change the default name of the data connection.

When Tableau Desktop was running in Japanese locale and using an Amazon Redshift data source, dragging a duplicated dimension onto Rows or Columns would sometimes result in the following error: "Only ASCII characters are allowed in an identifier. Invalid ASCII char: e3 82 b3."

In review Tableau Desktop version 8.1.4 would stop responding if a new dashboard was created after formatting borders or shading on a worksheet.

Workbooks that contained maps and used a SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse data source would generate an “Invalid input: expected '['” error when published to Tableau Server.

If a workbook with an action filter was created in English or French and subsequently opened in a different language (or vice versa), views would sometimes disappear after executing the filter action.

When a workbook that contained a date parameter, with the date format set to something other than en_US format (mm/dd/yyyy) was published to Tableau Server, the parameter control would momentarily display en_US format, but then change to show the specified format in the view.

When using SSL Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt HTTP communication with Tableau Server, using tabcmd logout would return the error "The server only accepts HTTPS connections. Please check the server URL." The session was not terminated. The problem was observed with a self-signed SSL certificate and automatic login enabled.

When creating new sites on Internet Explorer 7, you could select the "Only system administrators" option under “Ability to add users,” but the setting would not be preserved. When you went back to edit the site, “Ability to add users” would be set to "Both system and site administrators."

Quick filters with sliders that had been configured to show values as percentages (such as 0% to 100%) in the Tableau Desktop view would instead show a range with a different number format (such as from 0 to 1) in Tableau Server.

Date-time parameters would display a value twice—for example, "1:00 PM 1:00 PM".

Tabadmin warmup was not working when SSL was enabled.

Tableau Server would sometimes fail to open a view and return a "not a valid path" error for external files that were correctly uploaded with the workbook.

When a Tableau Worker server was added to run a standby data engine, it would sometimes become unstable, starting and stopping repeatedly.

Tableau Server would sometimes return the error "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'moveNext' of null" after a user selected a check box in a drop-down filter.

When the wgserver.timezone option was set to its default value of null (""), an error was logged to Windows Event Viewer: "Could not interpret wgserver.timezone config setting, null. Machine time zone will be used, instead."

Tabadmin backup would fail with the following error: "The driver encountered an unknown error."

Tableau Mobile (Back to top)

The Tableau app for the iPad would stop responding when you tried to sign in to Tableau Server.
