Claro Uses Tableau Software to Turn Client Data into Revealing Business Insights

The Americas’ largest mobile phone network turns complex data into beautiful, visual analytics in seconds

Claro, the largest mobile phone network across North and South America, has deployed Tableau’s business intelligence Software in Brazil. Claro uses Tableau’s rapid-fire visual analytics to gain insights about its customer lifecycle and make real-time business decisions.

Claro services more than 3,500 cities in Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, Salvador, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba and many others. The business intelligence team at Claro uses Tableau to tap into its customer database, analyzing millions of rows of data in just seconds.

“Prior to using Tableau, we had to go through a process of extracting data from our complex database into text files that were difficult and tedious to read,” said Reginaldo Adão, Marketing Specialist at Claro Brazil. “Now we connect directly to our data and produce beautiful visualizations in a matter of minutes.”

Claro plans to expand its Tableau deployment and its role within the company. ““We believe that Tableau will transform business intelligence in Latin America with its intuitiveness and simplicity,” said Adão.

“Claro is one of the world’s largest mobile phone network operators with millions of customers in Brazil alone,” said Miguel Nhuch, Vice President for Latin America at Tableau Software. “The ability to delve into the data for each of those customers and spot trends and outliers is key to making decisions that keep their customers happy and drive the business forward.”

Tableau introduced its Desktop and Server products in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese earlier this year. The Latin America market is a key growth market for the company.
