About the speakers


Mike Crook

Director of Finance Data Office, Salesforce + Tableau

Mike spent four years as a software developer supporting financial & management systems before moving into a number of different IT management roles. In 2001, he moved into his first “data analytics” role and luckily discovered Tableau Desktop in 2007. This discovery changed his career. Mike joined Tableau as the first IT Finance Manager in late 2011 and in 2015, he took on a new role as the Senior Manager of Analytics to enable everyone at Tableau to use Tableau. In 2016, he moved back into Finance to lead Finance Analytics. Now he is the Director of the Finance Data Office at Salesforce driving Data Strategy, Governance and Analytics across the entire Finance organization (which includes Tableau). He’s excited to share how anyone, but specifically finance professionals, can use Tableau to see and understand their own data.


Angie Sullivan

Director, Internal Audit, Tableau

Angie has worked at Tableau since 2014. She attended the University of Washington, and holds a Masters in Accounting, and is a licensed CPA. Angie spent 8 years at KPMG as an external auditor, and then moved into operational accounting roles, before joining the Tableau internal audit team. Her current role at Tableau includes oversight over the internal audit function, including testing, strategy, risk assessments, and reporting.


Mathias Ward

Senior Internal Auditor, Tableau

Mathias is a graduate from the University of Montana’s MBA program and a licensed CPA. Since joining Tableau’s internal audit team early in 2015, he became certified as a Tableau Desktop Qualified Associate and has helped develop dashboards for Tableau’s various internal audit functions.


Joe Oringel

Managing Director, Visual Risk IQ LLC

Joe Oringel is a Managing Director at Visual Risk IQ LLC, a risk advisory firm established in 2006 to help audit and compliance professionals see and understand their data. The firm has completed more than 100 successful data analytics and transaction monitoring engagements for clients across diverse industries. Visual Risk IQ LLC is a Tableau Alliance partner, and they have helped dozens of internal audit teams get up the learning curve with this powerful and easy to use tool for visual data analytics.

Joe has more than twenty-five years of experience in internal auditing, fraud detection, and forensics, including ten years of Big Four assurance and risk advisory services. He earned a BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University, where he took classes in their acclaimed Internal Auditing program. Joe later graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned an MBA. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor and a past president of the Charlotte IIA Chapter.
