Today, at Google Cloud Platform’s event Next San Francisco, Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA), a global leader in rapid-fire, easy-to-use business analytics software, will demonstrate how people can gain insight into their data stored in the cloud with powerful data analytics. The company will highlight a number of ways in which Tableau easily and directly connects to data stored in Google Cloud Platform, including a new Google Cloud SQL connector that will be available in the coming months.
Google Cloud SQL is a MySQL database that is part of Google Cloud Platform. It has all the capabilities and functionality of MySQL, with additional features. It’s easy to use, doesn’t require any software installation or maintenance, and is ideal for small to medium-sized applications. This new connector will provide Tableau and Google Cloud SQL customers with an easy way to see and understand their data.
“Tableau currently has direct connectors to Google Analytics and Google BigQuery and by adding the Google Cloud SQL connector, even more Google Cloud Platform customers will be able to connect to their data and analyze it in just a few clicks,” said Jeff Feng, Product Manager at Tableau. “The addition of the Google Cloud SQL connector moves Google Cloud Platform and Tableau Online customers one step closer to being able to both host and analyze data completely in the cloud.”
Tableau will be featured at Google Cloud Platform’s Next San Francisco as part of the IT Business Stream session, “Gain Insight into your Information with Powerful Data and Analytics” at 3:15 p.m. PDT. More information about the Next event series can be found here.
