Tableau Government Summit 2018

February 22, 2018 | Walter E. Washington Convention Center | Washington, D.C.

More data was created in the last two years than in the history of humankind—a trend that’s only expected to increase in volume and velocity. Advancements in open data, analytic capabilities, and cloud infrastructure options are enabling public sector organizations to take advantage of this massive influx and to reimagine how data can provide actionable, persuasive insights towards mission-critical results.

Join the thought leaders revolutionizing how government agencies access, analyze, and share data at Tableau Government Summit. You will network with peers, connect with expert speakers, meet Tableau pros, and leave with a deeper understanding of how the public sector is using analytics and Tableau to:

    Featured Speakers

The United States Census Bureau: Taking a Data-Driven Approach at the US Census Bureau

A lot can happen when you funnel a deluge of national data into Tableau's platform.

From internal analytics and business intelligence aimed at improving operational efficiencies to strategic shifts in how we share our public facing datasets in increasingly innovative ways, Jeffrey Meisel, Chief Marketing Officer at the US Census Bureau, will touch on how the Bureau promotes a more data-driven world by example.

Jeffrey Meisel, CMO, US Census Bureau

In 2014, Jeff left the private sector after being selected as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. Since that time, Jeff has helped modernize government programs through Agile and open-source initiatives.

The United States Air Force: Modernizing Through Data

By harnessing their data with Tableau, the United States Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) uses analytics to manage data and data-driven decisions across the enterprise.

Through governance, visualization, and a growing community of practitioners, Tableau's platform allows the AFIMSC to further their mission of understanding the cost of mission infrastructure. Since rolling out their pilot program in early 2017, Tableau Server and Desktop have saved the Air Force Civil Engineers $500M directly, allowing their infrastructure program to have the highest return on investment, while keeping the impact of various missions top of mind.

    Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Calhoun

Lieutenant Colonel Calhoun has been in military service since September 1982, with the last 22 years as an active duty Air Force officer. He has worked across a variety of commands and assignments and is currently serving as Chief of the Operations Research Division of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center in San Antonio, Texas.

    Joe Offutt, Lead Data Scientist

A professor of analytics at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and the Lead Data Scientist at the management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, Joe is considered a thought-leader in data science and machine intelligence. He specializes in guiding clients through their data science programs to obtain actionable information through data.
