We offer free one-year Tableau licenses to students at accredited academic institutions through our Tableau for Students program. Receive access to our entire eLearning suite once verified.

To extend or renew your Tableau student license, simply re-submit this Tableau for Students form to verify you’re still enrolled. www.tableau.com/studentlicense

If you’re receiving the error “the product key is invalid” it may be because the current version you have installed is an older version of Tableau. Please check out our Knowledge Base Page for additional support on how to resolve your issue. If these steps don’t work, please feel free to submit a support case here. Enter “installation” or other keywords into the search bar to help find your answer. If you cannot find correct documentation, feel free to submit a support case on the “continue to create case” button and a member of our Technical Support team will be with you shortly.

You are only allowed up to two activations with the same product key. This means you can install Tableau on up to two devices. If you have reached the maximum activations, and wish to install on another device, you must deactivate one of those activations. If you need assistance moving or deactivating Tableau on a machine, you can get more information here.

Tableau eLearning is web-based training you can consume at your own pace. Courses are interactive and designed to help you learn Tableau, regardless of skill level. Once verified through our Tableau for Students program, you will receive a code and instructions on how to register at the Tableau Learning Center. We recommend activating your eLearning license when you start using Tableau. Also, check out the student resource page for example data sets and additional free training.

We are currently offering a 20% discount on the Tableau Desktop Specialist Exam to verified students. We do not offer discounts on the other exams at this time. Please check out the Certification site for more information. Reach out to tft@tableau.com for additional information on how to request your discount. In the case of a discount error, please wait to purchase until Academic Programs has resolved the error, as retroactive discounts and refunds are not possible.
